I wish all of you would understand that “non-binary” and “androgynous” are not synonyms. And yes, that means you, even though you already consider yourself a trans ally, or maybe are even trans yourself.
Non-binary and androgynous are not synonyms. There are non-binary people who, say, love sports and have rugged beards. There are non-binary people who maybe love fashion and have long hair. There are non-binary people who are none of these things. They’re all equally non-binary.
And yes, this DEFINITELY includes non-binary people who were amab and are masculine, and non-binary people who were afab and are feminine.
i do think therapy recommenders on here wildly irresponsibly downplay its potential risks lmao starting obviously w/ the threat of psych and criminal institutionalisation which is structurally inherent to the patient-physician relationship but also the maybe more mundane risk of simply receiving treatment that is bad for you and counterproductive. i do not know where the idea came from that therapy is ‘at worst useless’. at worst it fucks you up majorstyle

sometimes you’re gonna go through periods of creative flatline. you’re gonna be unable to create art that you’re satisfied with. you’re gonna look at your work and nitpick the anatomy or perspective and you’re gonna get frustrated because What Happened! you were making art no problem! and, that’s okay!!! the ocean can’t always dance. volcanoes can’t always bellow. everything needs a breather; a little bit of dormancy before it can show off a spectacle again. let your pen rest a bit. you have time to enjoy the quiet before the next storm comes.
